Description SHIFT: No Weekends SCHEDULE: Full-time POSITION SUMMARY To coordinate the activities for clinical and non-clinical staff development of employees at Las Palmas Medical Center. To provide expert knowledge and education in the clinical areas for all staff. To develop a comprehensive clinical and customer service educational program for all employees of LPMC. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate the development of clinical and non-clinical education components in a model to encompass the Joint Commission requirement. Develop, review, monitor, and evaluate policies and procedures, protocols and standards of performance related to clinical and professional development of all employees. Develop and implement a quality improvement program that monitors and evaluates the quality of educational activities on an ongoing Design, implement and evaluate educational activities related to assessment of learning/knowledge deficits of all LPMC employees. Coordinate the school clinical rotation of affiliated educational organizations/entities and provide educational materials/orientation to the facility to enhance their educational experience in LPMC. Assist in the implementation/coordination of AHA approved programs such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc. Design, implement, and evaluate educational activities that adhere to the Texas Nurses Association and the Texas Board of Nursing guidelines on continuing nursing education programs. Exemplify the mission and values of Las Palmas Medical Center Participate in community based education for health care education. Other duties as assigned. Current basic life support required CPR instructor certification preferred EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: (list required and preferred separately) Three to five years recent instructor experience preferred SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work long hours and irregular hours with many interruptions. Knowledge of body substance isolation Effective communication/teaching skills Highly developed personal computer skills.
