-Three to five years
-Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
-Strong science background and advanced training in circulation technology from a CAHEP accredited program OR Graduate of Perfusion Training program prior to 1980.
Must be certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion and/or the Internal Board of Clinical Technologies (must be completed within 1 year of hire - new graduates).
Licensed Perfusionist by the Texas Dept. of Health (must be completed within 1 year of hire- new graduates).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
Advanced principles and techniques of circulation technology.
Interpersonal skills necessary to work with physicians, hospital employees, patients, family members, and community professionals.
Must possess exceptional critical thinking skills and deal with extreme pressure and stress.
-Category II - Indicates intermediate risk job classifications in which some employees have occupational exposure, depending on the task they are performing. Normally, their job tasks do not involve the exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials but occasionally they may be required to perform an exposure task as a condition of employment.
-Light Work: Lifting 20 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
-Works in an office environment and may involve periods of prolonged sitting at a computer
-Typical work hours can vary depending on workload and deliverables
