**Proposed Minimum Salary**
The School of Engineering, Computer Science, and Mathematics at West Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Electrical Engineering. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering or an appropriate closely-related discipline. An established record of research in power and energy systems is preferred. Areas of interest include: energy system analysis, control, stability, and protection; power system devices; energy storage; smart grid; integration, monitoring and protection of distributed renewable generation to the grid; system operation and control in restructured electricity industries; and wide area measurements and applications. The candidate is expected to be a significant contributor to the continued growth of the new undergraduate program in electrical engineering as well as to develop ties with other centers and research groups through the development of a vigorously funded research program and a specialized undergraduate and graduate curriculum. This position is expected to contribute to the broader research and educational mission of the School of ECSM. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a nationally recognized funded research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and participate in school, college, and/or university service and outreach activities.

+ Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the school.
+ Develop an independent, externally funded research program incorporating undergraduates and graduates.
+ Serve as an academic advisor to students in the major.
+ Assists administration in driving curriculum design & development.
+ Actively participates on college and/or university committees.
+ Active engagement in professional development activities.
+ Be involved in engineering/education outreach activities.
+ Willingness to assume other duties as assigned.
+ Earned doctorate in Electrical Engineering or a closely-related discipline. Candidates at junior level preferred even though candidates at senior level will also be considered.
+ Ability to teach a broad spectrum of courses within electrical engineering.
+ Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate engineering education.
+ High potential to develop an externally-funded scholarly research program.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ PhD in electrical engineering.
